The winners of the fifth KIT Doctoral Award have been nominated. The award honors excellent dissertations from the six KIT fields of competence. The awards will be presented at the Annual Academic Celebration which will take place on November 9, 2013.

Zum Start des neuen Doktorandenprogramms „KIC InnoEnergy“ findet am 27.10.2011 am Campus Süd, sowie am 02.11.2011 am Campus Nord jeweils eine Informationsveranstaltung zur Doktorandenförderung statt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Professoren, wissen- schaftliche Mitarbeiter und Doktoranden im Bereich „Energieforschung und Innovation“.
Noch bis zum 30. November 2011 können sich Doktoranden mit einem Praktikum für Studierende aus Nordamerika oder Großbritannien bei dem RISE-Programm des DAAD bewerben.
Im Rahmen der Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses und seiner frühen Selbständigkeit erfolgt eine erneute Ausschreibung von Feasibility Studies of Young Scientists (FYS). Einreichungsfrist läuft am 10. Oktober 2011 um 15:00 Uhr ab.
Zum 13. Mal schreibt die Deutsche Forschungs- gemeinschaft (DFG) den Communicator-Preis aus. Dieser persönliche Preis ist mit 50.000 Euro dotiert für die beste Darstellung von Wissenschaft in der Öffentlichkeit. Vorschläge können bis spätestens zum 31. Dezember 2011 bei der DFG eingereicht werden.
Am 13.-15. Oktober findet das erste Modul des Trainings zur Steigerung der Internationalen F&E-Managementkompetenz statt. Ziel ist es, die rein sachlichen Kriterien des Projektmanagements mit interkulturellen Fertigkeiten zu verbinden.
Das KIT hat die erste Schwer-behindertenvertretung gewählt und wird demnächst eine Internet-Seite einrichten.
