[ONLINE-SEMINAR] Forming research partnerships. How to approach grant acquisition for multi-partner projects

Tuesday, 13 July 2021, 10:00-16:30
online

The workshop will be held in English.

In the current scientific landscape, funding bodies increasingly expect researchers to engage in collaborations, either with additional generators of knowledge (academic and non-academic) or with potential users of knowledge. Moreover, researchers and their host institutions are expected to play a stronger role in transferring knowledge outside academia.

The goal of this workshop is to provide a practical training on how to engage with different types of organisation to form collaborative research projects. How to make others aware of your expertise, and how to develop the skills needed to work across disciplines and organisational interests.

After the seminar, participants will have a good understanding of:

  • How to form partnerships that incorporate the need to have impact
  • How to engage with other scientists in other research institutions
  • How to engage with industrial partners
  • How to engage with public interest partners
  • How to find partners
  • How to make yourself more visible

The workshop will consist of lectures, discussions and exercises. Exercises will focus on the practical approaches. Participants are encouraged to bring along their own examples for discussion.

Eligibility: Since this event is organised by the KHYS Postdoc Office, postdocs (who are members of KHYS) will have priority for attending. Doctoral researchers, however, can still register and will be offered a spot if not all places are taken.

If you are currently not yet a member of KHYS, you can register here.

The workshop will be held in English.

Technical requirements: To participate in this workshop, you need a stable internet connection, a webcam and a microphone. Participants will receive further detailed information regarding the online-platform prior to the workshop.
