Working Smarter with AI. How LLMs can help you turning knowledge into action more effectively (Five-day) [Online Workshop]
The event will be held in English and run for five days, on March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. each.
With the rise of Generative AI chatbots, you can now apply advanced professional skills far more effectively than before. Techniques that once required long practice before they could be applied (e.g. in the realm of communication or creative problem-solving) can now be operationalized far more quickly with guided AI support. This shifts the focus in developing professional skills from lengthy acquisition to immediate application in collaboration with AI.
Building on the idea that through collaboration with AI we can augment our own capabilities, this seminar series shows how AI can be used as a cognitive partner in completing professional tasks. Participants will, on the one hand, learn key concepts from four domains essential for early-career researchers (communication, creativity, decision-making, and learning) and see how AI can be integrated as a collaborative partner to translate them into practice. Taken together, the examples from these domains will then also, on the other hand, suggest a general approach for competence development in the age of Generative AI.
This seminar will run for five weeks, with weekly meetings on Monday, 11:00 – 12:15:
- Introduction (02.03.2026): Using AI as a collaborator that augments your skills
- Communication (09.03.2026): Applying established storytelling frameworks with AI to create compelling messages
- Creativity (16.03.2026): Enhancing problem-solving through AI-supported analogical reasoning
- Decision-Making (23.03.2026): Revealing blind spots and structuring decisions more effectively with AI-assisted analytical frameworks.
- Learning (30.03.2026): Using AI to strengthen understanding and memorization of new concepts.
Please also note:
- The course will use general-purpose LLM chatbots as point of reference (e.g. ChatGPT, CoPilot, KI-Toolbox). Some basic familiarity with these systems is expected.
- Participation in all five sessions is not strictly required but will deliver the greatest learning benefit. (To receive a confirmation of participation, however, you need to attend at least four sessions.)
This event is open to doctoral researchers and postdocs at KIT who are KHYS members. If you are currently not yet a member of KHYS, you can register here.
