[ONLINE-SEMINAR] Time and Self-Management for Doctoral Researchers and Postdocs (two-day)

Friday, 02 July 2021, 9:00-13:30
online

The workshop will be held in English and run for two days, on July 2 and 16, 2021.

Your day-to-day life is filled with various work-related and private demands that can lead you to feel rushed and pressed for time. Academics face an onslaught of daily challenges like teaching, research projects and publishing, not to mention the expectation of flexibility and constant availability that at times can feel overwhelming. All those last-minute, short-term assignments often take precedence and can keep you distracted from relatively important, long term goals and ambitions. A carefully thought-out time and self-management system can help to keep you focused on what’s really important. Learn to set priorities and forge realistic plans in order to balance the demands of research and your personal life goals.

Seminar topics include:

- Self-organization and self-motivation

- Defining personal goals and setting priorities

- Establishing and/or optimizing a weekly schedule

- Recognizing and using your individual performance curve

- Setting parameters for working effectively, maximizing time efficiency

- Work-life balance

After the first seminar day participants will receive activities to work on at home to enhance deeper understanding of the material.

This workshop is open to doctoral researchers and postdocs at KIT who are KHYS members.
