How to Be More Employable in Industry (Two-day) [On-site Workshop]
The event will be held in English and run for two days, on March 2 and 3, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each.
Despite world-class expertise in their field, many PhDs discover their CVs don't even make it past initial screening. The reality is stark: academic credentials alone rarely secure industry positions. Companies seek scientists who understand business priorities, can lead projects and teams, and can demonstrate how their specialized knowledge creates market value—a translation that most PhD programs never teach.
There's a significant advantage here: once you understand the unwritten rules, you can navigate this transition with confidence. In this comprehensive two-day workshop, we teach you how to:
- Decode industry job descriptions to identify where your skills truly align, beyond obvious keywords
- Translate complex research accomplishments into business value that hiring managers immediately grasp
- Master networking strategies that feel authentic to your personality while building meaningful connections
- Develop compelling narratives that make your expertise relevant across different industry contexts
- Prepare for behavioral interviews using frameworks that showcase your adaptability, not just technical prowess
- Demand higher baseline salaries from a position of confidence rather than uncertainty
- Build a sustainable career development plan that leverages your scientific background for long-term growth
The course is highly interactive, mostly based on lectures, discussions and interactive exercises.
After attending the event, participants will apply effective strategies to significantly shorten their job search duration. Moreover, they will be able to higher interview-to-offer conversion rates and secure roles that truly value their scientific training rather than entry-level positions. Most importantly, they maintain their identity as scientists while gaining the business fluency needed for industry success.
