KHYS Family Grant

• Support from student or research assistant ("Hiwi"): Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers who are pregnant or with infants or toddlers, in particular until the age of three (as well as in justified individual cases, such as single-parent households)
• Coaching: Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers who are in their family phase – from family planning to childcare of kids at elementary school age
• Being a ▶ member of KHYS is a requirement for funding

To apply for the KHYS Family Grant, kindly fill out the ▶ application form in its entirety. After signing it, send it to coaching∂khys.kit.edu. The applications are processed in the order in which they are received on a first come, first served-basis – provided that funding requirements are met and funds are available. The awarding committee makes it decision by circular procedure. You will receive notification of approval or denial within a few weeks.

• Support from a student or research assistant ("Hiwi"):
  Duration and scope of cost coverage for a Hiwi may be limited in reasonable proportion to the available budget. Hiwi contracts will be concluded with your institute. Initially, the Hiwi‘s salary will be paid by the institute. Subsequently, the payroll expenses are reimbursed by KHYS. For the specific details of the process, please provide us with the name of a contact person at your institution.
• Coaching: 
  The KHYS Family Grant covers the costs of individual coaching sessions offered by a professionally trained, external coach of your choice up to EUR 500 incl. VAT applicable per person receiving funding. The grant covers only fees, but not travel expenses, etc. You are required to search for a suitable coach independently and commission them. To help you get started, you will receive a list of potential coaching providers along with your approval notice. Additional information will be sent to you upon approval of the grant.
