Networking Grant

Are you a doctoral researcher at KIT and do you want to independently establish new important or beneficial international contacts in order to extend your personal network? If so KHYS offers you extensive assistance and financial support with a travel subsidy of up to €1,500 from the moment you got the idea right through to your initial approach.

With the Networking Grant you can travel abroad to visit a researcher or working group renowned in your area of expertise and in relation to your doctoral research project.

There are no limits to what you can do with your ideas as part of the Networking Grant. For example you could use the grant to plan a longer research period abroad. The main condition is that the contact must be a new one for you and your research group.

Please note, that especially those applicants, who have not had the chance to gain international experience yet, will benefit most of this program and the accompanying workshop.

Scope of the Grant:

  • Funding amounts of up to €1,500 from KHYS in order to support the implementation of your idea
  • Kick-off workshop "Strategies for Establishing International Contacts"

Please note:

The Networking Grant is an individual funding programme.

The funding "Networking Grant" is exclusively for establishing new contacts and is supposed to prepare you to establish more new contacts on your own in future. Therefore, this program does not support research stays with existing contacts or conference visits.

On our website you can find a list of other funding institutions that can financially support your research stay abroad.

Please also consider the following funding option offered by KHYS:

  • With the Research Travel Grant you can broaden the scope of your research work, get to know other science systems, develop your scientific and intercultural skills and expertise, and establish international contacts within the framework of a research stay of three to six months at a university or company abroad.
