[ONLINE] Postdoc Days: “Career Paths for Postdocs I: What`s Important for an Academic Career?”
The event will be held in English, on December 1, 2020.
What will come after my postdoc? What are my chances for staying in the academic environment? These questions (understandably) concern almost all young early-career scientists. The focus of this event will be on career paths within academia. We will start with an introductory lecture by Dr. Christiane Kasack, who will first talk more generally about different aspects of a “successful career” and then focus on different career paths within academia and the required skills and competences. The following panel discussion will feature former postdocs who have all stayed in academia, but who have still pursued very different careers. In the discussion, they will talk about their personal experiences and give you advice on what is important if you too are interested in an academic career.
Technical requirements: To participate in this workshop, you need a stable internet connection, a webcam and a microphone. Participants will receive further detailed information regarding the online-platform prior to the workshop.
This workshop is open to postdocs and people interessted in becoming a postdoc at KIT who are KHYS members.
For KHYS members this workshop is free of charge.
