How to PhD

• At the beginning of the doctorate, many formal steps must be completed
• In order to make this vast amount of bureaucracy clearer, we have created a flyer on the topic “How to PhD”.

We are working on the following topics:

• Public Doctoral Exam (discussion about possible implementatinos of a (semi-) public defense)
• Cumulative Thesis (discussion about possibilities to write a paper-based thesis)
• Promotionsordnung (change of the Promotionsordnung concerning the oral exam)
• Working Conditions (conditions doing a doctorate, employment, payment, insurance, ...)

You have a topic, which you want to discuss with other PhD students or for which you see a need for action? Come to the next PhD student council meeting or write an email to the board (physik-doktoranden-vorstand∂lists kit edu)!
