Online Seminar

From Research to Startup. Discover the Market Potential of Your Scientific Project [ONLINE-SEMINAR]

Tuesday, 28 June 2022, 9:00-16:00
online

The workshop will be held in English.

The computer, the Internet or the laser led to groundbreaking innovations that lastingly changed people's ways of working and living. They are good examples of the so-called "technology push" innovations that have emerged from research. Technology push product developments are characterized by starting with a particular technology and then integrating that technology into products that either better meet known market needs or create new markets.

Have you ever considered that your research could lead to new products, too? How much startup is there in your scientific project? And is starting a business something for you? Discover the potential of your research topic and find out how your innovations can become a business idea.

During the workshop, the researchers will learn and apply the Technology Application Selection (TAS) approach that was developed by EnTechnon. Participants will be introduced to the methodology through short theoretical impulses to generate new ideas and understand how to find possible applications for new technologies. Furthermore, they will apply the method to their own research.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Characterize the specifications of “technology push”
  • Make a technology characterization for their own research
  • Identify an application field for their own research
  • Describe why personal values are important to find an application field

We look forward to seeing you in our course!

Eligibility: Since this event is organised by the KHYS Postdoc Office, postdocs (who are members of KHYS) will have priority for attending. Doctoral researchers, however, can still register and will be offered a spot if not all places are taken.

If you are currently not yet a member of KHYS, you can register here.

The workshop will be held in English.
