Workshop

Project Management in Science and Technology

Dienstag, 23. Oktober 2018, 9:00-17:00
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
Building 30.95 room A+B

Research has always been project-focused. However, the increasing complexity of projects and project consortia means that old approaches are no longer enough. Modern project management allows you to get the most out of your resources and to perform more research with fewer resources, at lower stress levels.

This workshop is highly interactive and allows you to apply the concepts, models and tools of project management directly to your project. In addition, you will identify the changes you want to make so that your work is more effective and enjoyable.

In this 1.5 day seminar you will learn:

- To develop the goals and scope of your project,
- The importance of the quality – time – cost triad,
- How to define milestones, work packages and their interdependencies,
- The simple trick that changes your project from being late to being early,
- To handle the main communication processes effectively: report writing and meetings, and
- To clarify who does what and by when.

The workshop will be held in English and run for two days, on October 23, 2018, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on October 24, 2018, 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
