Scientific Integrity in the Postdoc Phase

Tuesday, 29 October 2019, 10:00-12:00
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
Bldg. 30.95, seminar room A+B

The rules for safeguarding good scientific practice relate to most of the tasks and responsibilities that postdoctoral researchers are expected to accomplish while at KIT. To provide insights into these rules‘ correct application when, for example, preparing publications, managing research data or supervising younger scientists, the ombudsperson for scientific integrity at KIT addresses these topics and your related questions in an interactive talk.

Themes that will be covered are:

  • Who has the right to be (co)author of a publication?
  • What is plagiarism and how do I cite correctly?
  • Who has the right of usage of my scientific data?
  • How do I competently supervise doctoral and master’s theses?
  • What is scientific misconduct and where do I report it?

The talk will be held in English.

This talk is open to doctoral researchers and postdocs at KIT who are KHYS members.
