Workshop

Cross-Cultural Communication

Monday, 10 December 2018, 9:00-17:00
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
Building 30.95, Seminarraum A+B

Intercultural competence skills are one of the most required soft skills nowadays. In a multicultural workplace the ability to communicate and to work effectively can be a challenge. Knowing the barriers to intercultural communication is the first step to overcoming problems.
Are you interested in becoming more skilled at communication across cultures? Join the workshop and develop your intercultural competence skills.

Method:
The methods used will focus on interactivity. This will challenge participants to question and explore their own cultural upbringing. By learning about their own culturally influenced values, behaviors and attitudes participants will become more aware of other cultural viewpoints. This will in turn enable them to open up for new models of behavior.

The workshop will be held in English.

The workshop is staged within the framework of the KHYS Internationalization Program that is promoted by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF): http://www.khys.kit.edu/internationalization_program.php.
