Application Academic Year 2022/23

The call for the 16th KIT Doctoral Award is addressed to doctoral graduates of the academic year 2022/23. Decisive is the date of the thesis defense (October 1, 2022–September 30, 2023). The doctorate has to have been rated with “summa cum laude”. Doctoral researchers may nominate themselves or be nominated by supervisors or expert reviewers.

The following documents have to be submitted with the application by Friday, September 29, 2023. Please submit them electronically in a single PDF file (not including the dissertation and the xls table) in the order listed below. Please send them by ▶ e-mail directly to the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS):

  • ▶ Nomination form completed by the supervisor (Word template)
  • Curriculum vitae, including information on the duration of the candidates’ studies and doctoral research, awards, stays abroad, social commitment, patents, conference contributions (presentation/talk, poster or publications in the proceedings)
  • List of publications (please divide your list in publications before, during and after the completion of the doctoral research phase and indicate whether the publications have been peer-reviewed; please pay attention to the categories listed in the xls table which has to be submitted additionally)
  • Copy of the doctoral certificates
  • Copies of other certificates (Bachelor/Vordiplom certificate, Master/Diplom/Magister certificate)
  • Dissertation (please submit as a separate PDF file or via download link)
  • Enclosed ▶ xls table (please submit separately)

Please note that only one application per person is possible. Only complete applications that meet all the formal criteria will be considered. It would be very helpful if you would scan documents accurately and add your name to the title of the documents to make them easier to match. Please send your application by ▶ e-mail to KHYS. Selection and award ceremony:

The award winners will be selected by the ▶ Council for Research and Promotion of Young Scientists (CRYS). The final decision is made by the Executive Board. The award ceremony will be part of the President's Banquet.
